Our Story

K&R Island Flava Restaurant emerged from the passion of two culinary enthusiasts who began their journey in 2018 by cooking in their small apartment kitchen. What began as a humble small catering service for 20 people every other week quickly evolved into a popular endeavor, serving dinners for over 50 guests biweekly. This achievement showcased their culinary talent and the joy they found in bringing people together. However, the COVID-19 pandemic presented a significant challenge that halted their progress.

Yet in the wake of the pandemic, the founders maintained their passion for cooking and a hopeful vision for the future. As the world began to recover and adapt, they recognized a unique opportunity to revive their dream and turn it into a formal business.

In late 2023, they officially launched K&R Island Flava Restaurant, fueled by their love for people and a desire to introduce the vibrant and diverse flavors of authentic Jamaican cuisine to a wider audience. Their profound understanding of traditional Caribbean recipes—gained through years of love and practice—guides their culinary creations. They also recognized the growing fascination with Caribbean food among various communities and aimed to celebrate this culinary art form.
